DateSafetyCheck is designed with privacy as a core principle. We understand that you're sharing sensitive information, and we take that responsibility seriously.

What We Collect

• Chat Text: Sent to our servers for risk analysis, then discarded in original form. We only keep a cryptographic hash and derived risk signals for duplicate detection and quality monitoring.
• Venue Names: Used to check against community reports and aggregated into anonymous hotspot data.
• Screenshots (Premium): Processed for text extraction, then auto-deleted within 24 hours.
• Basic Analytics: Page views and feature usage to improve the service. No personal identifiers.

What We Don't Collect

• Your real name or identity
• Contact information (unless you provide for support)
• Dating app account information
• Location data beyond city-level for venue matching
• The identity of the person you're chatting with

Data Retention

• Analysis Results: Auto-deleted after 30 days
• Uploaded Screenshots: Auto-deleted after 24 hours
• Incident Reports: Kept anonymously to improve community safety signals

How We Use Your Data

• To analyze chat patterns and provide risk scores
• To improve our detection algorithms
• To build anonymized community intelligence about scam hotspots
• To send service-related notifications (if opted in)

• All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS)
• Sensitive data is encrypted at rest

Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), you have the following rights as a Data Principal:

Data Localization

All personal data collected by DateSafetyCheck is stored and processed on servers located in India (Mumbai region, ap-south-1). We do not transfer your personal data outside India. Our database infrastructure is hosted in Indian data centres to comply with data localization requirements under Indian law.

Breach Notification

In the event of a personal data breach, we will:

• Notify the Data Protection Board of India as soon as practicable, and in any case within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach
• Notify affected users without undue delay, including details of the breach, the data affected, and steps taken to mitigate the impact
• Document the breach including its nature, the categories of data affected, approximate number of individuals impacted, and remedial measures taken
• Take immediate remedial action to contain the breach and prevent further unauthorized access
